New service uses machine learning to enforce compliance and protection of sensitive data

NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Logicworks, a leading compliant cloud services provider, today released a data loss prevention (DLP) software solution that continuously monitors and protects sensitive data on the cloud.  As a part of Logicworks’ cloud operations platform, Pulse, the service integrates Amazon Macie, serverless technology, and proprietary software to detect threats and enable swift remediation.

An industry first, Logicworks DLP provides an out-of-the-box solution for customers to prevent common data loss scenarios. The service uses machine learning to detect and classify new patterns of content in Amazon S3, going beyond the simple detection of medical records, credit card data, and social security numbers. The software then uses serverless technology to automatically protect at-risk data. Demonstrating the ability to prevent data loss is a key requirement for compliance with regulations like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and HITRUST.

Using Amazon Macie, Logicworks DLP can scan massive volumes of Amazon S3 data, up to hundreds of PetaBytes. The scan locates sensitive data and determines the level of risk. Customers can set automated policies to protect this data, such as blocking public access and quarantining objects. CISOs and IT security managers can enforce their governance standards without in-depth AWS engineering skills or personnel. With Logicworks DLP, organizations greatly reduce the risk of employee error; no longer can a few wrong clicks result in the loss of millions of customer records and devastate a business’ reputation.

“Customers in highly regulated industries often find it prohibitively expensive and technically challenging to solve traditional problems like data loss prevention on the public cloud,” said Matthew Sharp, CISO, Logicworks. “Logicworks built its DLP service to automatically pre-configure the latest AWS tools for machine learning, data classification, and access control to protect customers from the most common and potentially damaging forms of data exposure.”
